NOFA Podcast

Mar 31, 2021

In this episode, I interview Jim Schultz of Red Shirt Farm to discuss backyard birding on a small to medium scale. Jim helps us get started skilfully and gives us insights on what to be prepared for in caring for birds for the long haul.

Jim Schultz runs Red Shirt Farm with his wife Annie. Red Shirt Farm is a small diversified farm in Lanesborough, Massachusetts and they are doing their part to preserve several heritage breeds; Buckeye and Australorp chickens and Standard Bronze turkeys. They also raise several breeds of pigs and all the animals are reared on pasture and humanely processed on the farm. The quality of the animal’s care is their highest priority.  www.redshirtfarm.com
